50) Displaced in time

I thought I would toss a few more pics up before navigating the subterranean depths of the Paris metro to get across town to my Grounded Theory workshop. It is still pitch out there (it looks cold. At this time in the morning down under the sun would have been up for 2 hrs and it would be 28 degrees C). Time is way out of whack - It is 6 am here - that is 10 pm Down Under and I am getting ready for a full day of academic research discussions - I hope they have coffee!

This quite to cycle/scooter city - thousands of the things. They go everywhere, weaving though traffic, driving on the sidewalks (pedestrians beware!). One main street must have 20 stores of different cycle shops with rows of bikes for sale.

Many have 'lap skirts' - heavy nylon attachments that cover your legs when riding in the cold.

Christmas festivities on the Champs- Elysees (where you can buy everything from lockpics to state-of -the art Peugeot motorcycles and from high fashion coats and boots to stun guns!

Barges on the Seine await spring

Louve

Hercules - in the Jardin des Tuileies

The 'modern' Paris - someplace (I am lost) in La Defense

The sidewalk here was a skating rink!

Trendy Fashion - good on ice!

Maybe I'll go Christmas shopping - hey - its Paris!
